Our Process - MSIP

Discover our kiwi-first 'Multi-Stage Independence Process' and how it works to preserve impartiality and promote trust.

Why do I need MSIP, and what is it?

MSIP provides you with the trusted and reliable information you need, for the biggest purchase in your life:

  • before you decide to make an offer or
  • before you go unconditional

MSIP is a transparent process that creates a trusted building report.

A CheckedOut MSIP report provides peace of mind, saves you money, saves you time, and provides you with the confidence in the report information so you can make the best decisions.

A closer look at
the MSIP steps.

1. Ordering & Inspector

Home Buyers choose the inspector from CheckedOut's inspector panel, or CheckedOut's own algorythm selects the inspector.

This promotes a fair outcome for the buyer because the vendor/agent do not get to choose the inspector.

2. Inspector Check

No Special Relationship* exists - CheckedOut checks with the inspector to ensure they have NO special relationship with the homeowner.

* CheckedOut constitutes a 'special relationship' as a friend, affiliate or associate of the home seller. If there is a relationship found, CheckedOut intervenes and selects another inspector without a relationship.

3. On-site Inspection

Independent On-Site Inspections - wherever possible the inspector will have minimal contact with the owner or agent during an MSIP inspection.

This reduces the chance of an external influence over the inspector so the inspector can go about their inspection without having the agentor owner looking over their shoulder and providing guidance, suggestions, or pressure to omit or downplay existing or potential issues.

4. Independent Report

Independent Report completion - MSIP reports require inspectors to avoid contact with the agent and owner until after the MSIP report has been completed, ensuring the inspector is free to give their true and impartial assessment of the properties actual condition.

Regular checks and Audits are also in place to ensure the consistent impartiality that MSIP requires is maintained.
